Sixth Form Course Guide
Life in all its fullness
The holistic vision of having ‘life in all its fullness’ permeates everything we do in the Sixth Form at All Saints’ Academy. We are proud to be a Christian Academy that welcomes and values those of all faiths and none; a welcoming community that strives for the common good of each of our members. This means not only an education in the necessary academic and personal skills required to succeed in their chosen pathways and professional lives but also being equipped with the character and values that will be needed along the way.
Students at All Saints’ Academy measure success on their terms, going on to a wide variety of destinations, including competitive university courses and sought-after apprenticeships.
Academic
An impressive array of Level 3 subjects, both A Levels and BTECs, await students at All Saints’ Academy Sixth Form. Each subject is taught by specialist and dedicated teaching staff who guide them through their Sixth Form studies, challenging and inspiring students to reach their potential.
Specialising in fewer subjects, Sixth Form at our Academy marks a shift in the learning atmosphere to one of partnership and ownership. Studying in smaller groups with others who share their passion means that students take a leading role in their learning. Independence is nurtured outside of the classroom and students are encouraged to be engaged with their studies beyond their core curriculum and to be curious about themselves and the world around them.
A Level 2 Key Skills course is also available for those wishing to benefit from the nurturing and supportive atmosphere that our Sixth Form offers.
Pastoral
Put simply, All Saints’ Academy puts students first. A commitment to first-class pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do. Students are members of smaller tutor groups with a tutor who is their first port of call for academic and pastoral concerns. Study supervisors help facilitate the transition to greater independent learning and the Sixth Form Leadership team is always around to support students.
Opportunities outside the classroom are varied and enriching. Leadership opportunities abound alongside tailored PSHE extra-curricular activities, work experience, trips, chaplaincy work, lectures, charity incentives and more. Sixth Form students are encouraged to take a leading part in our Academy community.
Futures
Sixth Formers are expertly guided through the all-important process of planning for their futures. ‘The Futures Programme’ helps students through the process of deciding which pathways are best suited to them as individuals and facilitates their journey through applying to university through UCAS and to a range of apprenticeship and employment options. We are proud of the success achieved by our students.
It does not take visitors long to comment on the welcoming environment at All Saints’, but don’t take our word for it; please come along and see for yourself. We look forward to welcoming you.
