Principal’s Welcome

Term dates for 2025/26

You will notice that the October half-term has been extended to provide a longer break. All other dates remain aligned with local school term dates.

This change aims to offer students and staff a more substantial rest during a typically long term, which often sees increased illness in late November and December. Given the hard work of both staff and students, this adjustment is intended to support their well-being and reduce illness-related absences in the future.

Introducing Attendance Streaks at All Saints’ Academy!

We are excited to launch Attendance Streaks, a new initiative to encourage and reward consistent school attendance. Students who attend every day next term will receive a special reward. Regular attendance is vital for academic success, social development, and building lifelong skills like responsibility and resilience. While we understand that illness and exceptional circumstances can sometimes affect attendance, we encourage families to prioritise daily school attendance whenever possible.

For full details about Attendance Streaks, please refer to Mr. Bradley’s letter, which will be sent out soon. Let’s work together to ensure every student has the best chance to thrive!

Coming Soon: A New & Improved Parent Portal!

After the February half-term, we will be transitioning to Bromcom as our new platform for all parent communications. This change will provide a more streamlined and convenient way for you to access important information about your child.

Through the ‘My Child At School’ app, you will be able to:

✅ View and update your child’s information
✅ Top up dinner money
✅ Pay for trips
✅ Book parents’ evening appointments
✅ Receive emails and updates from the school

When we return to the Academy on 24th February, Edulink will no longer be active.

Parentmail will be discontinued from 7th March, and all payments for lunches, trips, and other school-related costs will need to be made via the ‘My Child at School’ app. Any dinner money currently on Parentmail at the time of the switch will be automatically transferred to the new payment provider.

You will receive an email from Bromcom on 21st February inviting you to sign up for a parent account. In the meantime, we encourage you to download the ‘My Child at School’ app in preparation for the transition.

Thank you for your cooperation as we make this move to enhance communication and streamline payments.

National Apprenticeships Week and our Careers Festival

This week, 10th – 14th February, marks National Apprenticeships Week. It’s a week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact of apprenticeships on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
BBC Bitesize is a great website to learn more about apprenticeships. You can learn more about what apprenticeships are, take a quiz to find out what apprenticeships might fit you best, and watch short videos from people on a range of apprenticeship journeys. Students in Years 11 and 13 who are leaving school this summer can search and apply for current apprenticeship vacancies via the find an apprenticeship website – many companies advertise apprenticeships from now to April for September start dates.
This week we hosted Deloitte who ran an apprenticeships workshop for some of our Year 12 students, and some students in Year 9 have been talking about apprenticeships in informal careers conversations with volunteers from a range of employment sectors. Then on 27th February, we have our annual Careers Festival which will feature local apprenticeship providers as well as universities and post-16 education providers. Years 8 – 13 will attend the festival and parents are welcome to come along from 3.15 – 4pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

Chaplaincy News

Over the past couple of weeks, we have continued looking at our Termly Value: Peace.
In recent Collective Worships, we have focused on how peace is the absence of conflict, students and staff were challenged to imagine an Academy of Peace; a place where conflict was truly absent.
Could we dare to dream that ASA could become that place…
As we approach the half-term break, may I take this opportunity to encourage you, as the Lord did on the 7th day…
Take time to rest, recuperate and enjoy His peace, which it says in the scriptures, goes beyond all our understanding;
so no matter what circumstances you may find yourself in,
the peace of God is:

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
