For the first time in forever, we opened our doors to the public as over 200 of their students took the stage (as performers and backstage) to transform the tranquil views of Gloucestershire into an icy kingdom and the snowy palace of ‘Arendelle’. The Academy won a prestigious nationwide competition hosted by Music Theatre International and Disney, where we were selected as the winners of the ‘United Kingdom of Frozen’ competition. Chosen for their courageous, bold and ambitious approaches to performing, alongside their ambitious but inclusive culture within the Performing Arts faculty, the staff and students of West Cheltenham put on a jaw-dropping performance night after night to a sold-out audience thanks to the tireless support from the community.
Executives from MTI and Disney attended our closing performance on Saturday evening, and the feedback was phenomenal. Impressed by the audience’s immense response, MTI Director of Operations, Education & Development, Ryan Macauley, shared that he was impressed with the brave and creative staging that he saw on Saturday night and that he was most impressed with the amount of love and pride for performing that radiated through the students and the staff in the room. Music Theatre International and Disney share a love for entertaining, and All Saints’ Academy’s students take performing for their wider community very seriously, and it is always a great honour.
Director of Performing Arts, Miss Baynham-Williams said, ‘We would like to congratulate our academy students for the commitment, dedication, passion and elite professionalism that they showed on stage during every performance and we would like to extend our thanks to the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama design students for creating our wonderful puppets, set and bespoke Elsa self-transforming tear away dress that astonished audiences as it seemingly disappeared in front of their eyes, rapidly changing from the 1800’s regal, deep-royal-blue Coronation dress into that iconic pastel-blue snow-queen sparkling, mermaid-fitting-number.’
ASA’s ‘Frozen’ was certainly one that we hope made the Academy, Cheltenham, and the region proud.
Congratulations to all the cast and crew for delivering an unforgettable experience and making this a proud moment in our Academy’s history.
Get ready! After the Easter break, we’re launching our next Attendance Streak Challenge — and this one’s bigger than ever.
The Goal:
Maintain 100% attendance for two full terms — that’s 54 school days in a row.
The Reward:
Students who achieve perfect attendance across all 54 days will be celebrated and rewarded on the final day of the challenge.
Why get involved?
Excellent attendance shows commitment, builds good habits, and helps you get the most out of every school day. And of course, there’s a reward waiting at the finish line!
The challenge begins the first day back after Easter break.
Mark your calendar, set your goal, and get ready to show up strong — every single day counts.
Let’s make this streak one to remember!
Today, students embraced their love for numbers as we celebrated Pi Day! Every year on March 14th (3/14), mathematicians and enthusiasts worldwide honour the mathematical constant π (Pi), which represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. With an infinite number of decimal places, Pi is a fascinating and essential concept in maths,...
Today, students from Year 8 to 13 had the opportunity to explore future career and education options at our Careers Fair. The event featured a range of workplaces, educational institutions, and alumni, providing valuable insights into various industries. At this time of year, apprenticeship vacancies for September begin to pick up for students in Year 11 and Year 13 who will soon be leaving school. Apprenticeship vacancies can generally be found on the Find an Apprenticeship website – https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship or directly through employers.
There are some great apprenticeships, including degree-level apprenticeships, currently available at G-TEM, an automotive manufacturing and engineering company. You can find out more and apply online at www.g-tem.co.uk/early-careers/
On Wednesday 21st May, from 4.30pm – 6.30pm, there is a recruitment and information event at the University of Gloucestershire (Park Campus) for their cyber and digital degree apprenticeships. Degree apprenticeships are a type of job that combine work with higher-level learning, leading to an undergraduate degree while the apprentice is employed and paid a salary. They are fantastic options for those who are thinking about degree-level study but who are also keen to enter the world of work. You can sign up by going to tiny.cc/cyberdigital25. This event is for students in Year 13 who are looking to start a degree apprenticeship this September and their parents.
