Bright futures ahead: All Saints’ Academy Sixth Formers progress to university, apprenticeships and careers

Posted: 15th August 2024

“We are thrilled to announce that All Saints’ Academy students have achieved some of our best-ever results in both A Levels and vocational courses.

Our diverse curriculum offers a strong mix of A Level and vocational courses – and our students have achieved high scores in both areas, succeeding on courses ranging from A Level Drama and Mathematics to Health and Social Care. This is hugely encouraging as we continue to tailor our offer to the needs of Cheltenham’s communities.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic and lockdowns, our students demonstrated remarkable resilience, achieving the highest average point score and best pass rate in the Academy’s history. This was achieved while students engaged in a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as the Academy’s musical productions and sporting events, and gaining vital experience in work-based environments.

We expect the upward trend to continue next year and beyond as our excellent students progress through the Academy.” Benjamin Williams, Principal

Chloe Walsh, 18, is off to Birmingham City University to study Construction Management. Construction has been a key part of her life as some of her family members have been in the industry for a while and she is excited to continue this family tradition. “I’d like to thank Miss Baynham-Williams for all of her support over the years, she is a real light at All Saints’ Academy to so many students.”

Shannon Cairns, 18, will be studying Musical Theatre Performance at the University of Chester. “I’m really happy with my grades. A highlight of my time here was starring in the musicals, especially as Ariel in The Little Mermaid this year! All Saints’ prepared me for my next steps with my drama lessons and workshops with Frantic Assembly and University of Portsmouth. I will miss the All Saints’ community and being part of it.”

Rowan Adcock, 18, is excited to be starting an engineering degree apprenticeship with Ontic.

Head of Sixth Form, Mr Spanjers said “We are delighted to announce a successful year of A Level and BTEC Results, securing our highest ever pass rate, with A*-C being higher than in 2019 level.  Students from the academy are progressing on to a wide variety of exciting destinations, including work, competitive degree apprenticeships and a range of undergraduate degrees at universities across the country. Congratulations to the students and staff who worked so hard for the successes that are being celebrated today!”
