THE POLITICAL TRIP TO LONDON
Year 12s and 13s studying Philosophy & Ethics and Politics visited London for the day on the 6th of November. We visited London to see and learn about the institutions that are responsible for our country’s political system and laws. It was a cold and cloudy day, but our excitement made us all forget about the gloomy weather.
When we arrived, we first visited the Houses of Parliament, there we learned about its history and how it became an important pillar in shaping the just laws and rights of our people. We got a chance to see both the Houses of Lords and Commons in action as they were passing on bills and having debates which I found both interesting and funny. Later on we made our way to Trafalgar Square where we had the chance to do a bit of sightseeing and saw beautiful places like Chinatown and the art gallery near the square.
After taking a few group photos, we walked to Buckingham Palace and awed at the glorious building and its surroundings. It was truly the icing on the cake as it marked the end of such an amazing and educational trip.
We made our way home while engulfing all the food and snacks we had bought before departure. We are all so grateful for the opportunity and thankful for the teacher and staff that accompanied us as well as the bus driver who ensured we had a safe journey to and from London.
