Year 10 Computer Science students attended the GROWS events at SGS & University of Gloucestershire Park campus last week. With the help and support from Mr Hanson, Mrs Spence and Mr Round, the students enjoyed an enthralling computing and cyber programme, put on by the wonderful GROWS team, exploring e-sports, game designing, 3D modelling and the day in the life of a university student. There were plenty of career guidance given, which was the main topic of conversation on our coach journey home, along with advice on how to move forward after key stage 4. To top it off, students thoroughly enjoyed the annual COMEX event, playing games, collecting freebies, and critiquing the products made by final year students at the highly anticipated event. The students represented the academy with the upmost respect and showed an excellent attitude when attending both institutions & I couldn’t be prouder.
